Marc Frost

Lead teacher, Director

Marc Frost is an actor, deviser, educator and Chicago native who has performed and produced work in Brazil, Ireland, Spain, the USA and the UK. He created Theater Unspeakable as a platform for original works of devised, physical theater. Based in Chicago, the award-winning company has toured nationally to thousands of young audiences at venues including Lincoln Center Education (NY) and Kennedy Center (DC). He also co-founded Physical Theater Festival Chicago, an international physical theater festival. He currently teaches physical theater at DePaul University, Columbia College Chicago and leads Theater Unspeakable's company class series. Marc is also a proud graduate of the Commercial Theatre Institute’s 14-Week Training Program for Commercial Theatre Producers in New York City.

Alice da Cunha

Core Teacher

Originally from Brazil, Alice da Cunha is an actress and producer who has lived and worked in Portugal, the US and the UK. While in London, Alice worked as an actress as well as producing a weekly short film festival, ShortCutz London, and working as the Marketing Director for CASA- London’s Latin American Theatre Festival. In 2014, Alice co-founded and became a co-Artistic Director of Physical Theater Festival Chicago, an annual contemporary, visual and physical theater festival that has brought theater companies from 13 different countries from around the world to Chicago. Alice also serves as Artistic Consultant to Theater Unspeakable. Alice has also acted in various films, TV and theater shows including “United Flight 232” (Jeff for Best Ensemble & Best Mid-Sized Prod.). Alice is very interested in storytelling and has studied with Robert McKee. She is excited to be teaching with TU again.

Breon Arzell

Core Teacher

Detroit native, Breon Arzell, came to Chicago in 2013, after performing and teaching overseas for 6 years. Actor, Choreographer, Director, Writer, Poet, Stylist, Artist, Activist, Teacher, Creator, Collaborator, Enthusiast, Guru of Hustle; he is constantly striving to deliver love and light into this world. A career spanning 22 years (and counting), his talents have allowed him to perform all across the U.S., Canada, Italy, Germany, Denmark, London, & Singapore. Developing his own style of movement and storytelling, he has taugt/choreoraphed at Joel Hall Dancers & Center, Northwestern, DePaul, Goodman Theatre, and all across the Chicago storefront and equity theater community.

Leana Savoie

Guest Teacher

Leana Savoie is an actor/devisor/physical theatre creator. She received her BA in Theatre at the University of California, San Diego. She has studied at Steppenwolf at Summer Arts, The British American Dramatic Academy, and iO Chicago. In 2014 she trained in the Lecoq pedagogy at The School for Theatre Creators with Paola Coletto. Since then she has created and performed original devised work all around Chicago. Leana loves Clown, Bouffon, Grotesque, and all things wacky, mystical, and strange. She is excited to be continuing this work as part of the teaching ensemble with Theatre Unspeakable.

Andrew Tardif

Guest Teacher

Andrew J. Tardif is an actor, creator, mover and bread maker. He received his BFA from The University of the Arts in Philadelphia where he also became a resident artist for Off Color Theatre Company, a group focused solely on original comedy. He trained at The School for Theatre Creators, a Lecoq based physical theater school founded by Paola Coletto, and also attended the Pro Training Program at The Actors Gymnasium. After completing his training he cofounded Cult(ure) of Clowns, a company focused on clown, grotesque, and buffoon. Currently he is playing with mask and clown outside of the realm of theatre; more specifically in his podcast, Marty’s Minute Menitations

Flora Bare

Guest Teacher

Flora’s first career was as an athlete where she was a USA National Champion and 9-time All-American collegiate gymnast from University of California, Davis. She has her MFA from the London International School of Performing Arts in Lecoq based, physical theater and has lived, trained and been a theater maker in California, New York, Italy, Uruguay and London. She is an acrobatic and theater instructor at The Actors Gymnasium, an active collaborator of Silent Theater and an adjunct professor at DePaul University. Flora is a performer, director and creator for theater and circus. Her particular focus is on highly physical story telling with a strong emphasis on dark humor and drama through personal stories and social commentary. As an instructor, her strength lies in finding what each individual needs within a group and strives to create space for these diverse needs in order to help reach everyone's full potential. https://www.baretheater.com/

Brittany Price Anderson

Guest Teacher

Brittany Price Anderson is a theatre maker/performer and educator that has lived in Chicago since 2012. She graduated with an MFA in European Devised Performance Practice, which she earned at Columbia College Chicago and Arthaus Berlin in Germany. She also completed the Professional Training Program at Actors Gymnasium in Evanston, IL, where she focused on aerial silks, tightwire, and partner acrobatics. She is an original devising and tour member of Theatre Unspeakable’s The American Revolution, the founder of Heels Over Head: A Physical Variety Show, the co-curator of Scratch Night by Physical Theater Festival, and a part-time professor at Columbia College Chicago in Theatre and the Comedy Semester at The Second City.
